Welcome to the HirePanther Blog on hirepanther.ca (the “Site”). These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the blog and any related features (e.g., comments, forms, newsletters). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Note: These Terms apply to the blog only. If you use the HirePanther marketplace (e.g., listing or booking services), separate terms apply to that product.

2) Eligibility & account features

The blog is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Certain features (e.g., comments or subscriptions) may require you to provide information such as your email address. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit and for safeguarding any credentials you use to access features.


3) Intellectual property & license to use the Site

The content on the Site (including articles, layout, design, graphics, and trademarks) is owned by HirePanther or our licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, revocable license to access and use the Site for your personal, non‑commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Site or its content without our prior written permission, except as permitted by law (e.g., fair dealing/fair use).


4) User content (comments, submissions, feedback)

If the Site allows you to post comments or submit content (“User Content”):

  • You retain ownership of your User Content.
  • You grant HirePanther a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, create formatting‑related derivative works, publicly display, and distribute your User Content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Site.
  • You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your User Content does not infringe or violate any third‑party rights or laws.
  • We may moderate, remove, or refuse any User Content at our discretion.

If you provide feedback (e.g., suggestions, ideas), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty‑free license to use it without restriction or compensation.


5) Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  1. Violate any law, regulation, or third‑party right (including privacy and intellectual property).
  2. Post or transmit unlawful, harmful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable content.
  3. Upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access, interfere with security features, or disrupt the Site.
  4. Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Site except for indexing by public search engines in accordance with our robots rules.
  5. Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  6. Collect or harvest personal information about other users without consent.
  7. Use the Site to advertise or solicit without our prior written permission.

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the blog infringes your copyright, please follow our DMCA Policy for notices and counter‑notices.

10) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HirePanther and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. In all cases, HirePanther’s total liability for any claims under these Terms is limited to CAD $100 or the amount you paid (if any) to use the Site in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.


11) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HirePanther and our affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms or your User Content.


12) Changes to the Site and to these Terms

We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and may provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.


13) Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, the sections intended to survive (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) will continue to apply.


14) Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict‑of‑laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario for any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Site.


15) Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and HirePanther regarding the blog.
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
  • No waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
